Directories Philippines Corporation (DPC) is a Philippine-based company with a long-standing history in directory publishing and advertising. The entity traces its origins to the incorporation on June 20, 1989, originally operating as the Philippine Branch of GTE Directories (GTE/DC). Ownership shifted to a predominantly Filipino structure, with 70% owned by Filipinos and 30% by GTE/DC (Asia) Ltd., following changes prompted by the 1987 Philippine Constitution regarding foreign ownership in media.
The business transitioned from its earlier identity as Philippine Branch GTE Directories Corporation to Directories Philippines Corporation (DPC) as approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 6, 1993. By August 1993, GTE had ceased to be a stockholder, resulting in DPC operating as a wholly Filipino-owned firm. Since its establishment, DPC emerged as a dominant player in the Philippine advertising and directory publishing market. It has been recognized as a leading seller of Yellow Pages advertisements and, over the years, has published numerous directories across Luzon,Visayas, and Mindanao (LuzViMin).
In addition to its core directory publishing activities, DPC has contributed to regional industry development, exemplified by its founding role and charter membership in the Asian Directory Publishers Association, Inc. (ADPAI), a non-profit organization representing multiple countries in the Asian region. The company’s evolution reflects a focus on providing comprehensive directory solutions within the Philippine market and fostering collaborative initiatives among directory publishers in Asia.
